we took my cat to the vet today. i thought he had some weird skin disease on his chin and we were all going to be infected with feline leukemia. turns out he has ACNE! leave it to my cat to get acne... so we have clearisil wipes for him... no kidding.
what else have i learned over the past few days -
the jcc is a great place to meet dorky, social-inept, not-so-attractive, 30-something guys:
"david": oh, you study at harvard?
tamar: no, no - it's not even my tee-shirt.
"david": where do you study?
tamar: yale.
"david": oh how nice, oh that's very nice, what do you study there?
tamar: biology.
"david": oh biology is great, what kind of biology?
tamar: neurobiology. It was nice talking---
"david": oh neurobiology, that's so great. so interesting. do you know this famous neurobiologist, dr. schwartzolovich, he was at yale and now he's at johns hopkins.
tamar: no i don't. i should really--
"david": oh that's surprising. are you premed? what are you interested in, in medicine.
tamar: maybe endocrinology. but i really have to---
"david": oh en-do-crines are so interesting, very nice. i'm into computers.
tamar: oh that's very nice. i have to go, it was nice talking to you.
"josh": we lost the sun for a little while, i hope it comes back out.
tamar: yeah, it was nice before.
"josh": yes, the weather was gorgeous. I just came back from the beach. I went to the beach -- ocean city for a few days. I went with my friends.
tamar: that's nice
[four laps later...]
"josh": looks like we got the sun back.

"josh": the water's nice isn't it?
[two laps later...]
"josh": looks like we lost the sun, again.
personal weather reports every eight minutes, while you swim... how convenient.

tomorrow: i get to make like i know chemistry and am qualified to teach it to 14 and 15 year olds. a little nervous, still have not packed, still have not looked at course syllibus (sp?)... have not even mentioned fact that it is in loudonville, new york... never heard of it? exactly...
